2008 Shelby Township Art Fair

Saturday and Sunday, August 9 & 10 marked the 25th Anniversary for Shelby Township’s Art Fair.  Hosted by the Shelby Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department and the Shelby Township Art Fair Committee and supported by a number of generous businesses and service organizations, the event featured a nice variety of artists and artisans from around the state as well as the country.  The not-so-perfect weather dampened the grounds, but not the spirits of fairgoers who, in addition so some great art, enjoyed music, free crafts for kids, and some terrific food.   There were also exhibits from the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, the Shelby Township Fine Art Society, a tribute to the late Audrey Ratterman, a youth art exhibit from students at Peace Lutheran School, a display by the Shelby Gardener’s Club in the Historic Hope Chapel, and tours of the Andrews Schoolhouse Museum by members of the Shelby Township Historical Committee, as well as displays from the Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments.
