The Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center hosted its annual PIONEER CHRISTMAS on Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, 2009. Visitors spent the afternoon discovering how pioneers and early settlers from the area celebrated the season. The event included hands-on activities for all ages including nature crafts and games.
The Sisters of the Union greeted visitors to the Pioneer Cabin and showed them how pioneers decorated for Christmas, how they prepared their meals, and did their chores.
The Friends of Shadbush held a craft and bake sale with proceeds to help with funding for future programming.
Below is a photo sampling of the activities enjoyed by the many families that participated at the event.
