The Shelby Township Senior Center offers
daily activities for seniors, 50 years and
older. Ongoing activities include: line
dancing, crafts, exercise classes, computer
classes, drawing/painting classes, bingo,
choir, bible study, bridge, euchre, pinochle,
pedro, shanghai rummy, dinner dances,
lunch bunch outings, blood pressure checks,
birthday parties, special holiday parties, craft
sales, talent show, picnics, and day and
overnight trips. Pool tables and a ping pong
table are also available.

A hearing impaired group and a low vision
support group meet monthly, and the Center
donates to various charities, veteran facilities,
and needy children. Bus transportation with lifts
for the handicapped is provided by
appointment. We will transport to doctors’
offices, to Troy Beaumont, St Joseph, and
Crittenton Hospitals. Transportation is also
offered for shopping trips, to banks, and to
beauty salons and barber shops.

Shelby Township residents ages 50 and over have a choice of numerous activities to participate in through the Shelby Senior Center. Located in the Shelby Community Center at 52670 Van Dyke, 1 light north of 23 Mile Road, the Senior Center offers social activities such as line dancing, crafts, fitness programs, computer classes, art classes, bingo, rummy, euchre, pinochle, and much more.

The health and well being of our members is a priority, so blood pressure checks are scheduled and the Senior Loan Closet is made available. The Center also hosts a Macomb County Senior Nutrition and Meals-on-Wheels program, as well as a County Caregiving Help and Housing Program and Chore Referral Program.


Members may attend dinner dances, holiday parties,
day and overnight trips, the lunch bunch, and picnics.
Pool tables and ping-pong tables are available at the
Center, and bowling, softball, and golf leagues for
seniors are offered through the Shelby Parks, Recreation and Maintenance
Department.

Bus transportation is available to transport seniors to
doctor appointments, shopping trips, to banks, and for
